Reflections of Inasne mind...

While olympic reports have sucked me in its grip , not complaining though, I am amazed somehow by mere thought that there is no dearth of incident which excites and provokes me to come back to my rambling .. Revelations .

Recent one is World affairs .What started as a mere casual interest has culminated into passion and evergreen desire to assimilate as much as possible. Globe was certainly bought to enhance my study-table semblance and was equipped with other paraphernalia of stationery but slowly and steadily, rather cryptically when did I start taking interest in world affairs , I dont know . But its heartening to acknowledge that the world becomes such a small place sometime. A month ago I did not even know the name of all countries and suddenly Uganda , Georgia , Somalia , and ilk do not seem alien to me . Now the question arises , why do I need to mention that ? Primary one , I am insane and believe me , my existence is all about Insanity .... Oops !... I copied this one from Einstein.

Anyway , though Olympic frenzy is escalating with each passing day , there is growing concern whether India will be able to lap up more medals or not . Anyway , Bindra has given us a hope and we as an Indian , if nothing more , atleast are eternal optimist . We played enough foul games of mismanagement so that Monika Devi couldn't appear in Beijing Olympics ( Whether she does , It's doubtful) . Who are to be blamed ? Our hockey team , the real prowess of India ( at least, number of gold medals suggests that) couldn't qualify for Olympic . Shame on us ! On one hand , China barged in Olympic territory in 1984 and had gone on consistently to achieve new feats , on the other we lost our forte . We are complacent and believe me , this is our biggest sin . African countries where children are born undernourished , excel in gymnastics and athletics , why can't Indian ? I personally remember , as a child I was never encouraged by my parents or school to participate in all sort of games . I don't blame them because they always thought of providing me best education, being deprived of higher education themselves . We have talents in gully and slums , but people don't dream of excelling in field when their parents are worried about daily bread and butter. I was lucky to have the best of education , 300 odd million people are not. Lot of Initiatives are taken by government but how effective are those can be mocked blatantly ? I remember an incident, In Patna , a national level swimmer had displayed his certificate on tea-stall , a gully tea-stall owner . This was etched in my memory 3 years ago and I felt an urge to write about it .Well , the amount which BCCI spends to overhaul infrastructure ,even if half of that amount is diverted towards other games , we can create more talents . I am not against cricket but sometimes I am not able to digest some facts related to cricket. I am not against Dhoni but whether he is justified to get accolade of Khelratna award , is a different story and can be followed by a spicy debate.

Anyway , I started off with something else in my mind and have let my pent-up frustrations in something else. Being complacent will only let us achieve consolation prizes , learning from China's achievement can really turn us formidable . Hope, Indian politics learn some lessons from China.

Insanity is good. It proves that there is activity in your brain.
